???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: Abuta grandifolia (Mart.)
Abstract: Abuta grandifolia (Mart.) Sandwith (Menispermaceae) and Parahancornia amapa (Huber) Ducke (Apocynaceae) are known popularly as abuta and amapa, respectively. These species are typical of the Amazon region and popularly used as anti-inflammatory, cicatrizing and treatment of pulmonary diseases. Samples of the twigs of A. grandifolia and twigs and bark of P. amapa were collected, dried, milled and extracted with different solvents in order of increasing polarity. Of methanol and dichloromethane extract of the twigs of A. grandifolia were isolated the compound N-trans- feruloyltyramine and alkaloid palmatine, respectively. The dichloromethane extract from the twigs of P. amapa were isolated the mixture of steroid stigmasterol and β-sitosterol, the mixture of pentacyclic triterpenes α-amyrin, lupeol and β-amyrin, besides the triterpene friedelin and an 3β-O-acyl-lupeol ester. The methanol extract from the twigs of P. amapa was isolated the indole alkaloid isositsirikine (first time reported in this genre). In the assay of larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti, the dichloromethane extract from the twigs showed a LC50 = 67.2 ± 0.6 mg / mL and methanol extracts from bark of P. amapa showed a LC50 = 71.6 ± 0.7 mg / mL. In the inhibition assay of the acetylcholinesterase enzyme, the dichloromethane and methanol extracts from bark and twigs of the species P. amapa and A. grandifolia, the alkaloids palmatine and isositsirikine, besides compound N-trans- feruloyltyramine showed inhibition of this enzyme. In the evaluation of lipoxygenase enzyme inhibitory, dichloromethanic, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts from the bark and of the twigs of the species P. amapa and A. grandifolia showed active. To assay the antimicrobial activity of the dichloromethane extract (MIC = 62.5 mg / mL) and methanol (MIC = 31.25 mg / mL) from the twigs of A. grandifolia and methanolic extracts from the bark (MIC = 62.5 mg / mL) of P. amapa inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. It was also observed inhibitory activity of the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa to the methanol extract from the twigs (MIC = 62.5 mg / mL) of A. grandifolia and the methanol extract from bark (MIC = 62.5 mg / mL) of P. amapa.
