dc.description.resumoO trabalho pretende dar visibilidade à mulher imigrante em Manaus, no período de 1880 a 1920, quando ocorreu o apogeu da exploração da borracha na região. Caracterizado pelo desenvolvimento econômico e transformações nos aspectos urbano e cultural, o chamado “boom da borracha” propiciou a vinda de imigrantes de diversas origens tanto do Brasil quanto do exterior. A análise pretende identificar, através dos periódicos do período, como as imigrantes foram inseridas no cotidiano da cidade, suas relações com as elites, para quem e por quem o espaço urbano foi pensado, e também no contexto da população pobre, que foi excluída das ações do poder público.por
dc.description.abstractThe work intends to give visibility to immigrant women in Manaus, in the period of 1880-1920, when it happened the peak of rubber exploitation in the region.Characterized by economic development and changes in urban and cultural aspects, the so-called "rubber boom" caused the arrival of immigrants from diverse backgrounds both from Brazil and abroad. The analysis aims to identify, through the journals of the period, how the immigrants were included in the city's daily life, their relations with the elites, for whom and by whom the urban space has been thought, and also in the poor’s context, which has been excluded from the government actions.eng
