dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the performance and the hematological responses of juvenile tambaqui Colossoma macropomum (Cuvier, 1818) fed different levels of partial replacement of corn by glycerol (0 %, 25 %, 50 %, 75 %, and 100%). The experiment was conducted for 90 days in the lab for the production of aquatic organisms at the University Nilton Lins, in a completely randomized design, consisting of four treatments, because 0% is control, four repetitions and two sampling times. 240 juveniles were used with initial average weight and standard length of 15.32 ± 1,61 g and 8.03 ± 0.22 cm packed in 20 L 310 water tanks, closed system no reuse, continuous aeration, siphoning and replacement of water every 48 hours, ad libitum fed twice a day with experimental diets formulated given 13.807 MJ.kg-1, 28% crude protein. Considering the parameters: zootechnical checks (GP + S%), welfare (health) (IHS + FC + IVS), economic (TEE + ILE) and haematology (haematology + metabolites + ions) diets for juvenile tambaqui can receive up to 50% replacement of corn by glycerol without compromising your development under the conditions studied.eng
