A cultura do Boi-Bumbá de Parintins e o Ensino de Química: interculturalismo e o processo de ensino-aprendizagem

Abstract

This work is the result of research developed in conjunction with the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching (PPGECIM) at the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM). The research began by identifying a gap in the recognition and integration of students' cultural knowledge in the context of Chemistry teaching, seeking to highlight the importance of interculturalism as a pedagogical tool in the teaching-learning process. Through this study, we sought to understand how interculturalism can be used to encourage reflections on environmental problems, such as the fires in the Amazon region, and integrate them into the daily lives of students, using the toadas do boi bumbá in Parintins as a strategy for environmental education. To achieve the listed objectives, the research adopted as a method the intervention of a didactic sequence based on the "Three Pedagogical Moments" proposed by Delizoicov, Angotti and Pernambuco (2011). The methodological strategy involved the use of the Caprichoso and Garantido oxen as a pedagogical resource, allowing students to reflect on environmental issues experienced in their reality, especially the fires, and to relate these issues to their cultural identity. The research adopted a qualitative approach, and data analysis was conducted based on the Discursive Textual Analysis of Moraes; Galiazzi (2006). Among the contributions that this work listed were the promotion of active participation of students, the collective construction of an original toada with an environmental theme and the elaboration of drawings representing the students' learning and perceptions about the fires constituted the product of the research. In addition, it was possible to highlight the importance of relating the content to the students' reality, to promote interest in subjects considered difficult. Finally, this work showed that the integration between culture, environmental education and Chemistry teaching, when using the toadas of the Boi-Bumbá of Parintins, offers an intercultural educational approach for students.
