Abstract

This dissertation addresses the vegetal transformation of puxuri (Licaria puchurymajor), with an ethnographic focus on the practices carried out in the municipality of Borba, Amazonas. The study aims to describe the techniques of management and processing of this species, situated within specific cultural and ecological contexts. Using the methodology of the chaîne opératoire, the research examines the steps involved, from environmental collection to the final processing of the seeds, highlighting the technical choices and traditional knowledge that shape these practices. The study emphasizes how the techniques employed reflect complex interactions between body, environment, and culture. Through this analysis, the research seeks to contribute to the understanding of the relationships between technical practices, sustainable management, and traditional knowledge in the Amazon.
