Abstract: | The Amazon region is known to have a rich biodiversity, which also has a range of unexplored species and / or neglected by the scientific community, and such species may have a very strong economic potential for man. Even with a small fraction of this known biodiversity, it is estimated that the wealth of the Amazon flora comprises approximately 30,000 species, about 10% of plants from all over the planet. Hoeing inchi is a species native to the Amazon and with great potential for use in famacêutica and cosmetic industry, because it has high content of unsaturated fatty acids mono and polyunsaturated the oil extracted from its seed. However, despite several studies on the features and benefits of this oil are found in the literature, some information on the germination and planting need to be defined. Embrapa Western Amazon, located in the city of Manaus, has a Germplasm Bank of Plukenetia volubilis composed of several accesses. And this present work aims to study the germination process of weeding seeds inchi and to determine the best conditions of vegetative propagation in vivo and in vitro. |
